Not your typical counsellor…

I’m real, I am truly authentically me in the counselling room; I have led a colourful life, and I don’t mind a bit of colourful language. I personally believe counselling should be a conversational, relational, and a transforming experience, not a clinical and stale exchange. Furthermore, I view counselling as a journey of self-discovery, the discovery of your true authentic self.

Imagine letting go of all the should’ s of who you think you need to be and embracing who you truly are? I know if you put in the time, the effort, and the work during the counselling process not only will you be transformed but you will be opened to possibilities and options you may have never thought possible!

So be brave and come on this journey with me; It is time to put yourself first and discover who you truly are; after all, putting yourself first is the new sexy and who doesn’t want a little sexy in their lives! It’s time to put sexy back into your life and relationships!

Experience

I have over 10 years of counselling experience within the public and private sector; Counselling, individuals, couples, and running group therapy sessions.

My education was completed in beautiful New Zealand where I was also born and raised. I work from a place I like to call Rachel’s therapy; what does this mean?

Basically, I work from who I am, and I combine that with all my knowledge, education, and theoretical background to give you Rachel’s counselling experience; Conversational, relational, and transforming counselling.

How can you expect to be treated?

Caring, compassion and non-judgmental underpin my approach to counselling. It is my privilege to be on this journey with you and as your counsellor; I will always respect your views and opinions without judgment.

I will give you encouragement and help to empower you on your journey wherever it may lead. I will value you as an individual and will not only have open ears but an open mind. I welcome negative feedback; I don’t mean I enjoy stuffing up!

But I do appreciate when my clients are courageous enough to share their thoughts, pet peeves and views with me because it allows me to grow and develop my skill set; as well as provide the best counselling to meet their needs. So please speak up, I welcome your feedback.

Provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions.

Client Love

A young female on a beach dancing wearing jeans and a red jumper

“I love how Rachel has guided me on being able to process my thoughts and feelings.”

I always tell this to everyone that I share my experiences with; a day with my counsellor beats a day at the spa. I always feels like a very heavy weight is lifted off my shoulders after every session. I love how Rachel has guided me on being able to process my thoughts and feelings so they become easier to deal with and then learning how to dispute these feelings and thoughts so that as a result you can learn to love and forgive yourself more. I’m looking forward to more sessions with her. One doesn’t have to reach a point of crisis before reaching out for help.
