Not your typical counsellor…
I’m real, I’m vibrant and I’m one-of-a-kind.
But no matter what, I’m always authentically me in the counselling room.
I have led a colourful life, and don’t mind a bit of colourful language.
I personally believe counselling should be a conversational, relational and a transforming experience - not a clinical and stale exchange.
Furthermore, I view counselling as a journey of self-discovery. The discovery of your true authentic self.
Imagine letting go of all the ‘shoulds’ around who you think you need to be, and simply embracing who you truly are?
I know if you put the time, the effort and the work in during the counselling process, not only will you be transformed, but your eyes will be opened to possibilities and options you may have never thought were attainable.
So be brave and come on this wellness journey with me.
It’s time to put yourself first and discover who you truly are.
After all, putting yourself first is the new sexy - and who doesn’t want a little sexy in their lives?
Let me help you put sexy back into your life and your relationships!
So call today, and take that first step towards a more authentic (and sexy!) life.
MY VISION
I have a vision to support and empower people from all backgrounds, to create the lives and relationships they dream of through achieving a sense of hope, direction, and purpose.
If you need support and want to make positive changes in your life, Shaking Up Perspective Counselling can help!
My Experience
I have over 10 years’ counselling experience within the public and private sector; counselling individuals and couples, and running group therapy sessions.
My education was completed in beautiful New Zealand, where I was also born and raised.
And I like to work from a place I call ‘Rachel’s therapy’.
What does this mean?
It means that while I draw on all my knowledge, education and a theoretical background, I come from a place of ‘who I am’ and meet you ‘where you are’ with an open mind.
No preconceived ideas, no opinions and no judgements.
Just conversational, relational and transforming talk-style therapy, counselling and life coaching that helps you discover your authentic self to uncover or heal the things that are holding you back.

Client Love
“I love how Rachel has guided me on being able to process my thoughts and feelings.”
I always tell this to everyone that I share my experiences with; a day with my counsellor beats a day at the spa.
I always feels like a very heavy weight is lifted off my shoulders after every session.
I love how Rachel has guided me on being able to process my thoughts and feelings so they become easier to deal with and then learning how to dispute these feelings and thoughts so that as a result you can learn to love and forgive yourself more.
I’m looking forward to more sessions with her. One doesn’t have to reach a point of crisis before reaching out for help.
